Denise Becker has been the market manager for the Farmers’ Market in Lapeer for the past 16 years, and was also a vendor at the market from 1997-2007. She graduated as a Certified Market Manager with MIFMA (Michigan Farmers Market Association) in 2011. Denise has also served as a Mentor to new market managers, or markets new to food assistance, since 2012, and has served as a speaker at market meetings. “I love farmers markets and feel they are very important to our communities. We strive to bring the freshest, local produce and goods we can to our community.”
Denise has been married to Kent for 43 years and they have six children and seven grandchildren (soon to be eight). Denise has been on the Lapeer Community Schools Board of Education as a Trustee since 2005. Is a lifetime member of the Lapeer County Historical Society, and has served on the Historic Courthouse Restoration Committee since 1997. The Becker’s are very active members of Lapeer Community Church and Denise serves on the Women’s Ministry Board.
